Artist's Comments
This is a photograph of a piece I did in ebony pencil. As you may know, it's of Frodo and Sam as depicted in the most recent Lord of the Rings movies. This moment is near the end of Return of the King when the two hobbits have destroyed the ring and are sitting on Mount Doom, waiting to die, as lava spills all around them. Frodo is basically telling Sam, his best friend, thank you for going through hell and back again with him. It's such a touching moment to me that I just had to draw it.
